Colorado Organized Play Thread

So seeing as the Chunin has come and go, I would like to start up a thread to maintaim regular discussion of tournaments and competition in the Mile High state.

So what do you guys think?

Is there a card/deck/element you think is too poweful?

Is there a particular player that you want to try and beat?

Is there a store that you think is right for Naruto tournaments?

Do you think your store is better than all others?

Would you like to play Naruto at any of the local conventions, such as Nan Desu Kan or Genghis Con?

Please feel free to discuss these things.

Cheers,
-Matt

yay! Our very own thread

let's see

Is there a card/deck/element you think is too poweful?
Card: 3rd Brokage
Deck: Eh, Not really, but Mono-Fire only IF my opponent pulls Freedori off in the beginning
Element: Freaking Fire (Only gets better next set)

Is there a particular player that you want to try and beat?
Beat Joe XD
Mainly cause I've never fought him with my Tempo deck.

Is there a store that you think is right for Naruto tournaments?
Honestly whatever works is fine by me.

Do you think your store is better than all others?
In Colorado...possibly. Dalez has the toughest competition from what I've seen at the Chuunin still

Would you like to play Naruto at any of the local conventions, such as Nan Desu Kan or Genghis Con?
Card wise...probably (But only if it was a major tourney like similar to Chuunin)
Cosplayer wise...Heck No XD

1. Hmm...Fire is pretty strong, but not broken...the only thing out that is really broken would have to be the third(apw)...
2. I want a rematch with Joe
3.Dale'z or valhalla's
4.idk, I like Dale'z a lot, but I haven't been to many other stores...
5. Depends on prizes.

Fire isn't close to "broken" status...YET! 3rd Brokage is the only card that's godly powerful to be called broken, everything is either awesome or just right :P
The element itself isn't too bad cause it has a lot of good cards, but it's MOSTLY good cards.

Brokage is what people tend to call 3rd Hokage [APW]

Broken is what people a card or set of cards that are considered too powerful and give an unfair advantage (Hence APW. Since you CAN NOT stop him unless you kill him / trigram him into the battle rewards)

There's probably a better explanation for "Broken" <_<

I think 8 Trigram is still just TOO good!

Is there a particular player that you want to try and beat?

I look forward to playing Dustin next chunin! (was dissapointed he couldn't make it)

Is there a store that you think is right for Naruto tournaments?

Anywhere in denver works for me.

Do you think your store is better than all others?

Vahallas seems to be the most consistant. (wish Co Springs wasnt so far away.)

Would you like to play Naruto at any of the local conventions, such as Nan Desu Kan or Genghis Con?

Just tell me where to sign up! (not sure i'd make a good cos player.. (mabye choji??)

So it looks like we suffered from yet another post-big event hangover, with nominal attendance at Valhalla's this week.

No worries, though. The Dream Legacy release is only three weeks away, and that should prove to be more than entertaining.

Cheers,
-Matt

I thought you said you'd be out of town that week.. if so, who is going to hold the release event?? Either way, it should be big! this set looks REALLY exciting!

BTW, How often can 1 store hold a Chunin event? And is there a certan time they have to wait before ANYONE else in CO can hold one?? Just curious

P.S. Im thinking about going up to the springs tomorrow night, If you are interested, mabye we can carpool together.. You have my ## if you are interested.. If not, Ill see ya on Sat.

=( I still haven't been Meijinized, or else I would set up for a release tournament...Kim Logie must be swamped or something. I forgot how many times a Chuunin can be held, I think it's a limited number and you have to do some sort of application process to get your store to do it. Matt could clarify though.
