IMO their personalities were void of emotion when speaking their voices had no differences in tone at all.
Tell me what changed through them talking to Hiruzen and them fighting him nothing. He stuck the kunais to bind them to his will to force them to actually fight for him, even more evident to that point the 1st asked are we being force to battle against you that would've not been needed ask if they were bind to his will already.
And again with my point Orochimaru says "if you'll notice I did not even bother
neutralizing your distinct personalities" wouldn't yousay the first time around their personalities were
neutral.Think about it.
