Welcome to another preview from the upcoming Series 25 “Kage Summit”.
Shikamaru is the brains behind Team Ino-Shika-Cho. In Series 25, this “Chunin” Ninja returns as a solid Turn 2 Starter Exclusive Ninja card with his phenomenal “Mental Power: 4″ and superb 3 Support (healthy status) and 2 Support (injured status).
Shikamaru makes his first appearance as a Earth & Fire Ninja in Series 25. His effect, like many Ninjas in this set, rewards you for playing a multi-symbol Deck.
Shikamaru’s effect works best when you have other Earth and Fire Ninjas in play. One other Earth Ninjas allows you to recycle 3 cards back into your Deck, which is helpful against Mill Decks or to just pull back powerful Jutsu into your Deck like “Shikamaru’s Judgement (J-710)” and “Formidable Team (J-890)”, which have both been reprinted in the Series 25 “Ino-Shika-Cho” Theme Deck.
If you also have another in-play Fire Ninja when you pay 1 Chakra to activate Shikamaru’s you get to pay it back to your opponent by milling 2 cards from the Deck. Remember if you have both another Fire and Earth Ninja in play both effects will be applied!
So pick up the Series 25 “Ino-Shika-Cho” Theme Deck and Shikamaru’s smarts can be yours as well!
