I just noticed that doesnt work right now and needs an errata, it should read combat attribute not characteristic right?

Combat Attributes are sort of the same as Characteristics now, in the sense that they don't divide them anymore unless they are specifically talking about one versus the other (Sand vs Sand Combat Attribute). Which is why Liger Bomb for example has Requirements: Taijutsu, rather than Requirement: Taijutsu Combat Attribute.

but the card actually says you may search your Deck for a Ninja card with any of those Characteristics, there are no ninjas with a mind, shadow, or food as characterstics. I know the intent was to search out the other parts but still.

It should, but I guess the easiest fix so as to prevent any confusion would just be to errata it to:

Effect: When you put in play a "Mind", "Shadow", or "Food" Ninja, you may search your Deck for a Ninja card with "Mind", "Shadow", or "Food", reveal that Ninja card, and move it to your hand. If you do, shuffle your Deck afterwards.

The effect is obvious... The card its make wrong but all understand the effect

It's a tutor that is based on 3 of the most played earth ninjas, and sets up both revitalize mill engine (via ino childhood) or mental power battles (nara family) as well as can get your ino-shika-cho squad on turn 4.
How can you say that's not in use? If you mean Earth is not meta, you're partially right, Earth is only tier 1.5. Sometimes top deck, sometimes beat out)

so anyone gonna tell tylar or am i gonna abuse this at every chunin til they do? i will tell my opponents the card doesn't work just like obito having desperation but not valid.
