The Official Mafia Council Thread
 

Due to recent events, Shino’sDad, Sharingan_Warrior5693, VSA, and I have been talking and we have come to the conclusion that if we are going to continue to play Mafia on this website, we are going to need to get some sort of officiating body to enforce the rules and make the important decisions, such as who is banned from the game or who will run the next game. For that reason, we believe that the best course of action is a democratically elected council. That’s what this thread is for.

The way it works is fairly simple. First, you nominate a person for the council. Then, that person can state why they think they would be a good council member and we will all vote from there. We are looking for about 5 members, though the council may bring in more people or dismiss them as they see fit. The number of votes necessary to get on the council isn’t set in stone and it’s really more of a general consensus type of thing.

For now, we’ll just worry about nominations and we can start discussing it in-depth in a couple of days. Also, it should go without saying that any upcoming games are temporarily put on hold until we can get this council up and running. Please note that you cannot nominate yourself and that Tylar endorses the idea of Mafia being controlled by the players. He is merely serving the duties of a moderator.

I'll turn it down. With the controversy surrounding me right now, I'd rather see what the council has to say first.

I nominate shikamaru_of_hebi [Amir]
because he can run a fun game, he was a good rogue, and i think he'll be fair.
Amir also knows his way around the forums, and plater, and has a pretty good mind for strategy-based games.
And, above all, Amir has a lot of free time. his job is very slow, and hes on the PC most of the time, so you can expect him to make all the posts on time, and to be very active in the forum.

i second this nomination.

amir has come up with some pretty good roles (i don't really like the jonin thing but it IS from epic mafia) and did a pretty good job last game, he is the first to force a post/forum join requirement and came up with the invisible status to help make games fair.

let's face it, with many other people we may have delays in the games because of people's school and work schedules, but amir has his own store and is always there when he is needed, if he knew everyone's roles last game, we would have had everything go smoothly as far as posting deaths, roles and pardons, but since he did not these were all severly delayed and caused problems (minor though they be) for the players.

these are why i second the motion to nominate amir, as well as nominate him myself.

well since i can't choose my self for obv reasons (aside from the rule)
