Brampton Chunin

There were 20 people in the event 5 of which came in my car.
I haven't played in a tournament for a very long time so I was expecting to get beat pretty hard.
I juste wanted the chance to play since I work so much.

Round 1: Void/Water vs. Matt (Earth Mental Power)
It was a 2-0 win against one of the new players at my store and I was scared of mental power battles.
Sided in Pakkun game 2 and I was lucky to draw it.

Round 2: Void/Water vs. Dan (Jonin's Intervention)
I ended up facing one of the Guys who ended up coming up with me.
I ended up winning but not sure whether it was 2-0 or 2-1.

Round 3: Void/Water vs. Ronald (multi element Kage)
Ron was running a mainly wind and lightning deck which had alot of stand alone ninja.
It was hard to face cause I saw his match at our chunin and was expecting to get smacked hard.
The first two games ended up being 1-1 so we went it to time on the third game.
I ended up winning cause he war hawked and i was able to stall out.

Round 4: Void/Water vs. Tyler (Void/Water)
The games were really hard for me because this was my first mirror match I played.
He was drawing all the right cards at the right time against me.
The match ended being 1-1 and then he conceded cause he had to leave for a previous engagement.
I was very un prepared and he was playing the differently then I would have.
I think he should have won.

Round 5: Void/Water vs. Andrew (revitalize)
We played one game that whole round.
I was new to how the revitalize abilities would trigger in eoj so I kept calling the judge over for rulings.
The match ran long but he eventually got double tree slap when I was only able to stop one from going off.

Top 8: Void/Water vs. Ron (rematch from round 3)
The games went fairly quickly for the first two going 1-1 right off the bat.
The last game I stalled out and kept negating the killer bee reinforcement with mizukage.
Eventually I broke through and won.

Top 4: Void/Water vs. Dan (rematch from round 2)
The first game I over powered him and pushed through.
Second game he t1 interventioned kabuto and brought back gaara.
I ended up losing that game.
Game 3 I stalled out and comboed with human path and pushed through.

Top 2: Void/Water vs. Andrew (revitalize)
Game one I pushed for early battle rewards and boosted turn marker fast.
While he was on turn four I dropped deva path and used almighty push to get through for six rewards.
Game two he got a lot of mill going off and pulled tree slap out before I could end up doing anything.
Game three I got really lucky with double eyes of pain and a Nagato childhood.
The game ended quickly with me keeping him at turn zero early game and pushing hard with big ninja.

Pros
This was a large event and I got to play against a lot of people.
I was able to get a couple of good trades in.
And 6 of the top eight were from my locals and 5, including myself, drove up with me.
I am proud of how well our guys did.

Cons
The set for prizing was set 19 path of pain which is currently rotated
And the foil set was tournament pack 2.
They said their meijin would look into seeing if the sets could be switched for something in rotation.

Other than that I had a great time and I was on the fence about joining my group to the jonin's in august.
Now that I got the bye I feel I should go even if it ends up just being a vacation for me.

congratulations on the win! For the Az chunin the prize set was 25.. so i'm confused why they would give ya'll 19?

there were 21 people in attendance. you got playmat's from approaching wind to make up for Set 19. I believe Carta Magica got TP2 so at least you could get void reprints with set 19.

It's really unfortunate you only got to play players from your own local at the chunnin.

When i won Untouchables 3rd quarter chunnin last year i only played one Untouch player and the rest were my own locals guys.

Funny how the two stores go back and forth with losing at their home venues.

That was a little bull with the set but I really like the mat I got.
It was a rock lee vs gaara one.

I understand that there is not enough product for all of the chunins, so they use rotated cards as prizing. But it would make sense to divide it up better.

For instance, a store that has a lot of unlimited play could get rotated stuff, and stores that have no unlimited play... don't.
