There's going to be 2 chunnin's in my area so a couple of questions
 

Is the release of set 28 going to be any time soon? If it's before march, [when the event by my house will take place] Will It be legal for competitive play at that point? [GZ tournament is on march 23rd I believe.]

What's the easiest deck to pick up right now for cheap? Being a college student I'm kinda strapped for cash so I can't invest into something like Fire/X right now.

What's the prizing structure look like? The last time I was in a Chunin the rotation was Foretold Prophecy through Will of Fire.

Monofire or Fire/X is actually not a money deck at all IN COMPARISON TO things like Earth...

you could easily get away with running 3x Backstab, 3x TP4 jutsu that also costs 1 fire and etc and run a cheap rush deck... you don't need dragon flames. Yes, it's competitive -- is it tier 1? no. but it can go brainless and just win off luck and such.

Other than that... monowind puppets?? pretty cheap... Void is also cheap - you could buy a starter and run it at the event and you'd probably win at least two rounds lol..

The place that I get my cards from has the release date as March 9.

then it would be only two weeks and not three, so it wouldn't be legal for play at that point if its released on the 9th. I'll keep that in mind.

I'm thinking of fire/lightning but I'll need to see if I can get my hands on warhawks by then, thanks for the help everyone.

You coul run Puppets with Tetragram, at least that's my main deck right now

1 or 2 void starters + trade for some heretical icons or puppets + trade for 1 sasori puppet mode. Both are fairly competitive for their price

You could as easily pick up a frog lightning deck add a few rasengans add just a few cards and go real competitive on people it's rush so momentum starts to leave deck around turn 5-6 so u would just need to figure an end game that will clinch it for u deck would really cost u 10 bucks plus a few hook ups from friends
