Series 25 Preview “Kidomaru (N-1465)”

Welcome to another preview from the upcoming Series 25 “Kage Summit”.

Today’s next preview is the handy “Kidomaru (N-1465)”. He is a Turn 1 Support Ninja but what makes him 6 arms above the rest is his ability to fix your Chakra area.

By paying a Water, Earth, or Fire Chakra your can search your Deck for a non-AMBUSH card of one of the listed Symbols and move it to the Chakra area. This helps in two ways, first it allows you to pay for Jutsu or effects with mixed Chakra cost. Second, it thins your Deck of unwanted cards.

This trashing ability has been seen on cards like Utakata, and while it places you at risk to Mill Decks it does improve your chances of not missing drops or drawing crucial Missions or Jutsus later in the game when you may no longer want to draw early game Ninjas. This crucial strategy is employed in Deck Building Games and works equally well in the Naruto CCG.

If Kidomaru isn’t the droid you’re looking for then fret not since Set 25 contains a cycle of this type of Ninja effect for all five of the main Symbols.

Series 25 Preview “Jirobo (N-1463)”

Welcome to another preview from the upcoming Series 25 “Kage Summit”.

Set 25 has introduced the multi-Symbol Deck, but that’s only the start. Water Decks also get a fresh start with a new supported theme in Series 25.

Water has long been the home for Chakra depletion effects like those found on Kisame and Jirobo; but what if the reverse occurred? Water is the catalyst for life, what if it gave back Chakra to your opponent? What strange new effects would result?!

Karin was the first such Ninja in Set 22, and “Jirobo (N-1463)” is one of the many new Water Ninjas in Set 25 to carry on this theme. When this strong Turn 1 Ninja attack with his 4 Combat (while healthy), you can give your opponent 1 Chakra from their Discard Pile, and in return Jirobo pumps himself by +1/+0 plus if he wins any Battle Rewards that turn while your opponent is engorged  with at least 3 or more Chakra he’ll help himself to one of your opponent’s Battle Rewards by discarding it.

A tasty meal and an even tastier Ninja to add to this new Water Deck.

Series 25 Preview “Itachi Uchiha (N-1445)”

Welcome to another preview from the upcoming Series 25 “Kage Summit”.

Today’s last preview is the master of Genjutsu – “Itachi Uchiha (N-1445)”. Itachi fits best in a Genjutsu Deck with Ninjas like Obito, Sasuke, Kakashi, Kurenai, Tobi, & Hanare. Itachi is a solid Turn 5 Ninja with good Support in either status, and ubiquitous 6 Combat while Healthy.

Like all good things they come in two, and Itachi creates a nearly identical copy of himself when he comes into play and you at least 4 or more “Genjutsu” Ninjas.

But that’s not all! In a bind Itachi can sacrifice that copy to prevent your opponent from winning any Battle Rewards during the turn. Nice!

Is it Itachi? Nope, it’s Werewolf Queen…it’s always Werewolf Queen

Series 25 Preview “Amaterasu Shield (J-930)”

Welcome to another preview from the upcoming Series 25 “Kage Summit”.

The jet black flames of this Jutsu can win you the game on your opponent’s turn. For two Fire Chakra, and the semi-strict requirements of a late turn Sasuke or Itachi gets you the “Amaterasu Shield (J-930)”.

Once played, any Battle Reward your opponent would win this turn results in you winning those Battle Rewards instead. This replacement effect ensures that any rush by your opponent will not end pleasantly. At best, their two (three if your able to stand-by your own team) unopposed teams will win you 2-4 Battle Rewards.

Their loss is your win!

Series 25 Preview “Inferno Style: Flame Control (J-931)”

Welcome to another preview from the upcoming Series 25 “Kage Summit”.

Removal effects are among the strongest things in the Naruto CCG, and should always require some analysis on its potential effect on your game.

This latest removal Jutsu is specific to Sasuke Uchiha with an Entrance cost of 5 or more, limiting this powerful Jutsu to a handful of Sasuke and Squads that include Sasuke. But if you are able to get it off on the attack you can deal 2 Damage to any Ninja that dares oppose him.

However, this Jutsu reached it pinnacle of power when used on the defense. If used this way you slam all Ninjas that share a Symbol that the target had for 1 Damage, turning this Jutsu into a mini Disaster and allows you to go on an all out offensive on your turn.
