Bandai's “Experience the Omniverse” Sweepstakes Promotes Toy Line Based On Cartoon Network’s Ben 10: Omniverse Series
Cypress, Calif. (August 26, 2013) – Eight-year-old Ayedin and his family swam with dolphins on a vacation at the Atlantis Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas, courtesy of Bandai’s “Experience the Omniverse” sweepstakes. Nearly 8,000 fans entered this promotion for the new toy line for Cartoon Network’s Ben 10: Omniverse series.
“I played in the water the whole time,” Garland said. “This was the best vacation ever!”
The “Experience the Omniverse” promotion gave kids a chance to interact — and become — the new aliens from the animated series, Ben 10: Omniverse. The “Alien Reveal” platform allowed kids to unlock one of 5 masks and transform their faces into one of Ben’s new Omniverse Aliens in real-time 3D by holding up the product UPC code to their computer web cam.
Each time a mask was unlocked, the child was entered to win a Ben 10: Omniverse Premiere Party. Seven-year-old Tyler Hudson from Saginaw, MI won the party at his local movie theater with 50 of his friends before the cartoon’s debut on Cartoon Network! All guests took home Ben 10 photo frames to hold their “red carpet” photos with goodie bags from the event.
The second phase of the “Experience the Omniverse” promotion gave kids the opportunity to help Ben “unlock the Omnitrix.” The “Crack the Code: Unlock the Omnitrix” sweepstakes called on fans to find secret clues hidden within the “Alien Reveal” platform and enter their secret numbers to try and crack the code on the website for a chance to win cool prizes. In addition to the Atlantis Paradise Island vacation in the Bahamas, prizing consisted of nine bi-weekly drawings for Ben 10 toy prize packages.
A total of 7,736 Ben 10: Omniverse fans entered the sweepstakes and the promotion page received nearly 87,000 hits during the course of the promotion between August 2012 and January 2013.
