School's Out for the Summer so the Tamagotchi® Characters are Interviewing for Jobs & "Livin' the Tamagotchi Life"
Mametchi, Memetchi & Kuchipatchi Pounding the Pavement Across America in
Search of Their True Calling in Life
(Cypress, CA June 28, 2007) - It's time to throw out the textbooks and pencil cases, since Summer is here. But while kids across America join their families on fun-filled vacations in the hot sun, the popular characters from Tamagotchi - the world's first and top-selling "virtual pet" tech toy - are pounding the pavement in search of work. Mametchi (the intelligent and sincere one), Memetchi (with those big sparkly eyes and opinionated mind) and Kuchipatchi (the mild-mannered one) are interviewing for fun Summer jobs - but don't expect them to be mowing lawns in the neighborhood. They're on a pursuit to find what their true passions and talents are, so they can pick a dream job that allows them to live the exciting Tamagotchi life 24/7.
Traveling in their Tamagotchi van, Mametchi, Memetchi and Kuchipatchi will interview for jobs at all their favorite places, including local baseball stadiums, zoos, theme parks, malls and the beach. They'll stop in Boston, joining in on all the Independence Day celebrations; New York City and the Jersey Shore; Philadelphia; Baltimore and Washington, DC; Atlanta; Dallas; San Diego; Los Angeles, where they hope to run into their favorite rock stars; San Francisco; Portland; Seattle; Denver; Minneapolis; Chicago; and Toronto, Canada right around the Labor Day holiday. Fans may be lucky enough to spot and photograph them while they're actually working, but can also keep up with all their fun travels and job experiences at www.Tamagotchi.com by reading each character's personal blog.
"Since school's out for the Summer, we decided to let the Tamagotchi characters try out different jobs that'll keep them busy, yet let them have some fun with their friends across the country," said Michael Riley, vice president of marketing for Bandai America Inc. "I got to pursue my dream job in the toy industry, so it's only fair that Mametchi, Memetchi and Kuchipatchi get the chance to discover what job field they're most passionate about."

This advanced feature lets two Tamagotchi owners "connect" together to have their characters trade gifts and play games.
Originally launched in 1997, the egg-shaped Tamagotchi went on to sell more than 40 million units worldwide and created a brand new toy category within the industry.
